The ACoRNS participatory model

ACoRNS paper published in Good Autism Practice

A paper that promotes the ACoRNS participatory model of research and practice has been published in Good Autism Practice. Targeted at those who work or live with people on the autism spectrum, the journal ‘encourages good and innovative practice in supporting children and adults with autism and Asperger’s syndrome’. Written by Sarah Parsons and Hanna Kovshoff, and including all ACoRNS partners, the paper is titled: ‘Building the evidence base through school-research partnerships in autism education: The Autism Community Research Network @ Southampton [ACoRNS]’.

It outlines the four key activities that we have used to build the model: (1) enrolling University students as researchers (2) securing external funding for specific projects (3) embedding research and practice into teaching at the University and (4) a focus on practice-informing dissemination in the wider community. This is a great way to spread the word about what we are achieving together.

Due to copyright protection, we cannot post the paper here but please get in touch with Sarah [s.j.parsons@soton.ac.uk] if you’d like a copy!
