ACoRNS is advertising for a part-time researcher to join the team! This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative project that is already making an impact in the local community. Working in partnership with the Aviary Nursery in Eastleigh, Professor Sarah Parsons (Education) and Dr Hanna Kovshoff (Psychology) have developed a novel methodology using Digital Stories to provide holistic information about autistic children as they prepare to transition from nursery to their first school.

Supported by the Froebel Trust and the University’s Impact Acceleration Award, this 12-month project will continue to embed the Digital Stories in everyday practice at Aviary Nursery and also work with new nursery settings to extend the approach. The successful applicant will be expected to have relevant knowledge and experience of inclusive educational environments, especially with regard to the needs of autistic children, and the practical and ethical issues that may arise when conducting research in these contexts. We anticipate that this post will appeal to someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, who is also confident in using digital technology and who may be seeking to build their experiences for a career in education / psychology research and / or practice. Building trusting relationships with community partners is an essential part of the role. The role is for 2 days a week (0.4 FTE).
