Job Title and Organisation Commissioning Manager, New Forest Care – Education
Introduction/Background (experience, qualifications, current work/research, etc.) Leisa Quigley covers various roles in the school this includes managing all applications for new learners for KS2, KS3 and KS4 including bespoke packages at our Forest School. She works with prospective parents and pupils round the four school sites and works with them to understand the support required and whether an appropriate school place is available. She also supports the transition of new students into the school and liaises with Local Education Authorities regarding placement, funding and tribunals.

Previous to working at the school Leisa worked for a post 16 college where she supported the SEN department in this role she would oversee new applications and understand students’ needs to ensure an appropriate course could be offered. In addition to this Leisa would co-ordinate all aspects of the EHCP process from consultation to name the college to the annual reviews.

Leisa has personal experience of people who are on the Autistic Spectrum.

What does the ACoRNS project mean to you? I have a professional and personal interest in supporting this project to enable young people and their parents/carers have access to information, opportunities and a voice to make life easier and remove some of the barriers that currently exist in what is a very complex area.
