Kathryn Ivil from Aviary Nursery and Sarah Parsons were invited to present at the Froebel Trust annual conference at the University of Roehampton on March 2nd 2019. Sarah and Kathryn talked about their Froebel Trust funded project that explored the views and experiences of young autistic children as they prepare for transition to primary school. Using a highly innovative Digital Story methodology, the project produced a series of short videos and resources to encourage everyone to see beyond the label of autism and take a more holistic view of the child. We are currently piloting a method for including the ‘I am…’ Digital Stories in transition meetings for children this term. More information about the project can be found here.
